U.S. Treasury Awards $75 Million Across 14 Jurisdictions for Small Business Credit Access Programs
The United States Treasury Department has announced that it is awarding $75 million across fourteen states to support state-run programs that help small businesses access credit. The funding comes from the State Small Business Credit Initiative's (SSBCI) Investing in America Small Business Opportunity Program (SBOP). This competitive grant program aims to connect underserved and very small businesses to finance opportunities by providing them with legal, accounting, financial advisory, and other technical services.
The following jurisdictions received SBOP funding:
- Arizona - $7.9 million
- California - $10 million
- Cherokee Nation - $2 million
- Chickasaw Nation - $2 million
- Hawaii - $1.6 million
- Kansas - $2.6 million
- Louisiana - $5.3 million
- Maryland - $10 million
- Michigan - $9.1 million
- Mississippi - $4.8 million
- Nevada - $4.2 million
- New York - $9.4 million
- Oklahoma - $4.2 million
- Rhode Island - $1.6 million
